The table Cortázar left in the store room is a senseless tangle of laths. But with the lamps lit one at a time, each wall receives a different silhouette.
Three lamps, three shadows, three letters. In this order: right wall, back wall and floor.
In the store room stands a contraption of laths that looks like nothing at all: not a figure, not a piece of furniture, not a model. Cortázar left it in the middle of the projection room with three lamps aimed from three different places, and a note saying that the piece itself was not the thing to look at.
