Four quarter turns and not one square is repeated or missed. Read top to bottom and left to right in each position.
Vergara did not trust locks. Lot 44 holds a sheet with eight rows of eight letters and a punched card of pasteboard. Neither of them says anything on its own: the card is only holes and the sheet is only noise. Fitted together and turned through their four positions, the sixty-four letters come out in order.
