Stripping the whitewash has uncovered red strokes all over the chapel: on the walls, on the floor, on the vault, on the pillar. Alone they mean nothing. The archive file says Canon Vergara had them painted "so that only whoever sat in his place would see them." Move around the floor plan and raise or lower your eye level until the strokes come together.
