Three towers have reported a bearing to the smoke. Draw the three sightlines and mark the seat of the fire at the point where they cross.

Warning: one tower has an uncorrected compass. Its sightline will pass wide and the three lines will leave a triangle instead of a point.

And the watcher at Red Crag adds: the smoke is coming out of the ravine itself. The right crossing has to fall on the watercourse.

THE SMOKE IN THE RAVINE

The smoke is rising out of the Ravine of the Souls: everyone can see that much. What nobody knows is at which point of the ravine. Three towers give a bearing. Two would be enough, but the third is there to check, and today it checks nothing: the three lines do not meet at a point, they leave a triangle. One of the three compasses is pointing at magnetic north and nobody has corrected it.
